Logo Design | Brand Development | Production Design
This project was part of a class project that was to be presented to the University of Alberta Press, an institutional publishing house. The client requested for a fresher and more contemporary look for their brand to replace their current logo.
Based on the client’s needs, the logo design was created to be completely different than the original logo to show a different kind of look for the Press identity. The solution is a more contemporary symbol as to represent the Press as a more current publishing house, as well as to keep up with current university press logo identities. The shape was kept rectilinear, and designed with a heavy stroke as to provide as much visibility as possible on publications with a smaller spine, where the logo is often used. Colour was also limited as to be as universal as possible among different publications and their identities.
